| NVQ 2 Security Guarding The role of the security guard is an ever developing role with an increase in responsibility. The risk of criminal attack, terrorism or general emergency situations has placed an increasing demand on the security guard. Candidate requirements There is no specific prior experience or qualification required to undertake the security guard course. However due to the nature of the learning and assessment required for the qualification students will need a basic literacy and numeracy skills. Course content Part 1 Roles and responsibilities of the security guard (22.5 hours over 3 days)

With the threat of terrorism, criminal activity and general emergency situations in a public venue the door supervisor has an increase demand ensuring the safety and security of the public. Candidate requirements There is no specific prior experience or qualification required to undertake the door supervisor course. However due to the nature of the learning and assessment required for the qualification students will need a basic literacy and numeracy skills.
